RESKILL4NETZERO

Wind Power Energy – Partner in the RESkill4NetZero Project

Wind Power Energy S.R.L. is honoured to be a partner in the RESkill4NetZero – Powering up key renewable energy career pathways project, a strategic initiative coordinated by EIT InnoEnergy and co-funded by the European Union. This ambitious project runs from December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2028, and addresses one of the most pressing challenges in the renewable energy sector: the shortage of skilled labour.

RESkill4NetZero aims to develop and pilot a scalable and replicable blueprint for critical technical and engineering job profiles essential for achieving Europe’s net-zero targets. The project focuses on identifying high-demand roles across multiple renewable energy industries—including wind, solar, batteries, hydrogen, geothermal, and critical raw materials—and establishing a common set of skills and competencies, particularly in the areas of green, digital, and safety-related expertise.

The project's key objectives include:

  • Designing a comprehensive Skills Strategy for technical and engineering roles in the renewable sector;
  • Developing and piloting a modular, flexible VET (Vocational Education and Training) programme to facilitate upskilling and reskilling;
  • Delivering an EU-recognised certification scheme to ensure consistent, high-quality training outcomes across Europe.
As a dedicated partner, Wind Power Energy contributes its expertise to support the creation of a European-wide renewable energy talent pool, enabling qualified technicians and engineers to transition seamlessly across energy sectors. The certification programme will be piloted and tested on a state of the art 50 learning hours curriculum that is available in minimum 5 European languages and that is using the latest learning technologies in instructional and experiential design.
RESkill4NetZero also aims to engage with academia, training providers, and employment services through targeted outreach and communication campaigns, promoting lifelong learning and career development in green energy—particularly in regions undergoing industrial transition.
Aligned with key EU initiatives such as the Renewable Energy Large-Scale Partnership and Net Zero Academies, the project fosters collaboration with industry associations to ensure the long-term sustainability of its results. By contributing to the development of a unified European standard for renewable energy skills, RESkill4NetZero will help accelerate the green transition and strengthen Europe’s leadership in clean energy innovation.

Wind Power Energy – Partner in the RESkills4NetZero Project coordinated by EIT InnoEnergy

  • On January 31, 2025, the first General Assembly of the RESkills4NetZero project took place, marking the official launch of this ambitious initiative funded under the Erasmus+ Blueprint programme.
    Coordinated by EIT InnoEnergy, the project will run over four years and aims to support the activities of the Renewable Energy Skills Partnership by developing a sustainable skills roadmap for Europe’s renewable energy industry.
    The consortium brings together 20 partners from 8 countries (Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Sweden, and the Netherlands) and focuses on the following key objectives:
    • Strengthening partnerships: by forming a transnational consortium to collaboratively address the skills gap in the sector.
    • Developing training programmes: through the creation and delivery of tailored curricula for key roles, incorporating work-based learning and cutting-edge technologies.
    • Creating certifications: by introducing EU-wide recognised certifications for renewable energy skills, supporting workforce mobility and employability.
    • Promoting careers in the green energy sector: through targeted campaigns aimed at transitioning workers and underrepresented groups to attract them to renewable energy careers.
    • Ensuring long-term impact: by aligning with EU policies such as the European Skills Agenda and the Pact for Skills, embedding the project outcomes into the wider European strategic framework.
